Eligibility Criteria for Kolkata Port Trust Recruitment : 
 
Educational Qualification : 
For Chief Engineer : MOT 1st Class (Combined or Motor) Certificate issued under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 with 3 years experience as Chief Engineer or 4 years combined experience as Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer on board a Foreign going ship. 
For Engineer-in-Charge : MOT 2nd Class (Combined or Motor) Certificate issued under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 with 2 years experience as independent Watch – Keeping Engineer on board a Foreign-going ship. 
 
Nationality : Indian 
 
Age Limit : As on 01.06 2016 
 
For Chief Engineer : 37 years 
For Engineer-in-Charge : 30 years 
 
Age Relaxation : 
 
For OBC Candidates : 03 years 
For SC/ST Candidates : 05 years 
For PWD Candidates : 10 years
