Qualifications: One PhD supervision ongoing; 01 Patient; Experience in Industry or R & D lab. of repute; M.Tech., M. Sc., or B.Tech project supervision on live Industrial problems.
Experience Requirements: 03 years after Ph.D. or 06 years total (not counting Ph.D., enrolment period) after obtaining M.Tech. degree.

Instructions to the Candidates: 1. The application form may be downloaded from www.nitdgp.ac.in.
2. The application form complete in all respect is to be submitted in hard copy to “Registrar, National Institute of Technology Durgapur 713209, West Bengal, India” on or before 31st October, 2014.
3. The filled in application should be accompanied by application fee of Rs. 600 in the form of Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of “NIT Durgapur” payable at SBI, R.E. College Branch, Durgapur (Code No.: 2108). However, SC, ST, PWD and women candidates are exempted from paying any application fee.
4. The envelope should be superscibed “Assistant Professor” in ……………….. department. Candidates applying for more than one department have to submit separate complete applications with application fee if applicable.
5. For each of the qualifications, professional experiences, achievements, etc., documentary proof in the form of self-attested photo-copies is to be attached with the application.
6. The originals must be produced at the time of interview and at the time of joining.
7. Additional sheets may be attached, in the same format, wherever the space allocated is felt to be insufficient.
8. Consistently good academic background is essential for all applicants which includes secondary, higher secondary (+2) or any degree/diploma preceding the essential qualification.
9. Incomplete applications / applications without necessary enclosures will not be accepted.
10. Copy of the community certificate (OBC / SC / ST) issued by the competent authority, not below the rank of a Tahsildar must be attached. In case of OBC candidates, the certificate indicating the status regarding creamy layer must be issued on or after 01/04/14. PWD certificate must have been issued by the competent authority as per Government of India norms.
11. The eligibility, qualification, experience and requirements for the posts notified shall be governed by the guidelines issued by MHRD from time to time and shall be applicable for this advertisement as well.
12. The vacancies advertised are indicative and subject to variation at the time of interview / recruitment. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any of the vacancies advertised. The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason.
13. Any misleading or wrong information supplied may lead to summarily rejection of application / appointment, if found subsequently the appointment will be cancelled.
14. An application in prescribed form with complete information and attachments will only be entertained for further processing. Application without summary sheet will be summarily rejected.
15. The Screening committee shall short-list the eligible and most desirable candidates to be called for interview from amongst the applicants, based on specialization, availability of candidates, and requirements of the departments. In doing so it shall not be bound by the options exercised by the applicants. Criteria for short-listing may vary from department to department.
16. Mere fulfillment of minimum qualification and experience requirements for the post does not entitle the candidate to be called for an interview. The Institute reverses the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than those prescribed in this advertisement.
17. Candidates with work experience in reputed universities, institutions or industry or with greater relevance to the academic programmes of the department will be given preference.
18. Experienced and/or meritorious candidates may be granted higher starting pay on recommendation of selection committees.
19. Persons employed in Government and Semi-Government organizations must apply through proper channel. However, an advance copy superscribed as “Advance Copy” on the application form may be submitted before the last date.
20. No interim queries regarding interview / selection process will be entertained.
21. Canvassing in any form will lead to rejection of application form.
